What is a photographic print?
A photographic print refers to an image visible on high-quality, light-sensitive paper. This paper is coated with chemical compounds like halide, bromine, and silver. The paper cannot be exposed to light, as doing so would prevent the development of the photograph. I’ll explain this process in a simple way: just like when clouds clear after rain and sunlight hits the sky, a rainbow appears due to the interplay between light rays and atmospheric gases. This same process represents the development of a true photograph, which we consider to have natural colors. What is the difference between past and present photo prints?
In the past, photo prints were developed using a chemical process. Photographic paper, treated with chemical dyes, was developed in a darkroom. This process yielded photos with true, natural colors. Now a days, most photo prints are created using inkjet technology or digital press printing. Inkjet printing uses 3 to 6 colors of ink, which enhances the clarity of the photo. However, upon close inspection, pixels may appear broken or colors may fade over time. Inkjet printing is faster and cheaper but lacks the quality of the older chemical-based photographic process. In the global market, technologies now exist that can utilize up to 21 colors, producing extremely high-quality photos, but the price is much higher.
What is a high-quality photo print?
A high-quality photo print has vibrant, natural colors, with clear details that do not fade or degrade over time. Inkjet prints that use more colors provide better sharpness, but traditional chemical-based photography is still considered superior. The more colors and clarity a print has, the higher its quality.Photo Printing Color Lab Price
